.Hidden in the depths of the vast Black Rock desert in central Nevada is the Fly Geyser. This geothermal wonder started as an accident in the 1960's when crews searching for geothermal power punched a hole in the ground and water spouted out. The geyser, not hot enough to provide power needs, was abandoned by prospectors and over the years its minerals have created colorful growths in the mud at its side. Friday, May 16, 2003.
